In The First Quarter, Shenzhen Port Added 14 International Liner Routes, with Nearly 300 Routes Covering More Than 300 Ports Around The World.

During the Dragon Boat Festival holiday, the Shenzhen Yantian Port Terminal was still brightly lit in the early hours of the morning. Several international liners were operating at the same time, containers were neatly stacked on the decks of the cargo ships, orange-red cranes rose and fell frequently, and the sounds of loading and unloading and the roar of machinery were intertwined.

The reporter learned in the interview that after the adjustment of the Sino-US tariff policy, the "stockpiling tide" of US buyers led to the rise of US shipping. Affected by transportation demand, the volume of international liner cargo port loading operations increased significantly.

Peak season comes early, logistics efforts help deliver orders efficiently

Yantian Port handles more than a quarter of the country's exports to the United States. Chen Zehao, the duty manager of the Operation Service and Development Department of Yantian International Container Terminal, told reporters that the traditional peak season for shipping is from July to September, but this year it is advanced to June and July. To this end, the company has made plans in advance in terms of cargo storage, empty container allocation and yard operations, and increased investment in equipment and resources, including scientific planning of storage layout and upgrading of operation processes.

Shenzhen Customs has implemented land-based rapid customs clearance at the seaport with the concept of "intelligent diversion, inspection in line with the trend, and embedded supervision", which has greatly shortened the trade cycle of enterprises and reduced operating costs. According to calculations, the utilization rate of the seaport yard has increased by 20% after the reform, which means that the seaport can accommodate more cargo turnover under the existing resource conditions, effectively alleviating storage pressure.

Opening routes, covering more than 100 countries and regions

Port throughput is the "barometer" of foreign trade vitality. Faced with complex external situations, Shenzhen Port continues to open routes and break records, becoming a key support for stabilizing the basic foreign trade and ensuring regional economic resilience.

As the single port with the largest container throughput in the world and the port with the most concentrated European and American routes, Yantian Port is based in Shenzhen, serves South China, and faces the world. It undertakes more than one-third of Guangdong Province's foreign trade imports and exports and one-quarter of the country's exports to the United States. It plays a very important role in the economic development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the Shenzhen Pilot Demonstration Zone.

Yantian Port has further expanded its routes this year, adding six new international routes in the first four months. At present, the route network of Yantian Port covers major trade areas such as Europe, America, and Asia, with an average of six flights to the United States and four flights to Europe every day, and more than 10 cross-border e-commerce shipping express lines. These diversified route layouts provide a wealth of logistics options for import and export companies in the region, consolidating the core position of Yantian Port in South China. In the first quarter of this year, Yantian Port completed a container throughput of 3.708 million TEUs, a year-on-year increase of 22.4%; cargo throughput of 22.352 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 23.5%.

The port traffic and foreign trade growth resonate at the same frequency, demonstrating the vitality and resilience of Shenzhen's economy. According to Shenzhen Customs data, the foreign trade container throughput of Shenzhen Port in the first quarter of this year was 7.88 million TEUs, a year-on-year increase of 19.6%, setting a record high for the same period.
